What you’ll need

apple

8 large apples peeled, cored and roughly chopped

water

2 cups water

vanilla paste

2 teaspoon vanilla paste

caster sugar

½ cup caster sugar

Preheat oven to 150C.

Peel, core and cut the apples into quarters.

Place in an oven-proof saucepan with the water, vanilla and sugar, then cook covered for about 20 minutes (stirring every now and then).

Puree this mixture until smooth then return to the pan and place in a preheated oven for 1 hour (stir every 20 minutes though to make sure the mixture doesn’t catch at the bottom).
